I loved reading this. As you rightly said, the freedom that comes with the two days of weekend makes the 9-5 weekday life so much more bearable (and something that I have started feeling grateful for after 12 years of full-time corporate life).

My partner and I shifted to the mountains during the pandemic and that prompted me to look for a remote role. Used to being in office for most days in a week for almost at decade spent on consulting projects in the city, it took a while to get used to get seeing people on the screen. Away from the grind of long travel hours and hustle, It's a phase I am enjoying for now, but might want to go back to the commute and the office life someday in the future. Glad to also read that you have found ways to continue exploring the city!

You are very relatable. I’ve been stuck in an office and a country for ten years, before the pandemic freed me and I decided to move to a very flexible job where I could be anywhere. Now I am looking for time flexibility too, as it’s not on the weekend that interesting things happen (especially in the restaurant world) and I need to structure better my working time, so I’m taping into freelancing.

Bottom line: life is made of phases and we embrace and accept every one of them!
